Mr. Homer Anderson Poindexter, 86, of Shover Springs, Arkansas, passed away on Friday, August 6, 2010, at Medical Park Hospital, Hope, Arkansas. He was born April 5, 1924, in Union County, Arkansas to Mike and Bessie Watson Poindexter. He was a heavy equipment operator, cattleman, and an avid gardener who loved to raise vegetables for his family and friends. Mr. Poindexter was a member of Bodcaw #1 Baptist Church, Bodcaw, Arkansas for sixty plus years and a member of the Hempstead County Cattlemens Association, where he served on the board. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, David Poindexter; three brothers, Morris, Floyd and Ural Poindexter; three sisters, Etta Sanders, Esther Holmes and Victoria McMillen, and one grandson, Rusty Cummings. HIS SURVIVORS INCLUDE: His wife (of 56 years) Jean Poindexter, Shover Springs, Arkansas. One Son: Paul Poindexter, Shover Springs, Arkansas. One Daughter: Paula Cummings and Rocky, Bodcaw, Arkansas. Three Brothers: William Poindexter, Bodcaw, Arkansas; Wilbur Poindexter, Bodcaw, Arkansas; Jewell Poindexter, Bodcaw, Arkansas. One Sister: Mildred McMillen, Hope, Arkansas. Three Grandchildren: Amanda Reeves and Chris, Denton, Texas; Chad Poindexter and Hannah, Arkadelphia, Arkansas; Andrew Poindexter, Hope, Arkansas. Special Friend Grand Doctor Amy Overton McCoy, Texarkana, Arkansas. Three Great-Grandchildren: Josh Reeves, Rusti Higgins and Sarah Poindexter. And several nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. FUNERAL SERVICES will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 9, 2010, at Bodcaw #1 Baptist Church, Bodcaw, Arkansas, with Rev. Lane Garner and Rev.
