Obituary

Mr. Homer L. Salisbury, Sr. age 93 of Hope, Arkansas passed away, Monday, July 28, 2014 in St Michael Hospital in Texarkana, Texas. Mr. Salisbury was born October 6, 1920 in Wilder, Idaho to Lawrence and Virgie Hartsfield Salisbury. Mr. Salisbury was a life long member of Holly Grove United Methodist Church in the DeAnn Community. He is a retired diary farmer and a World War II veteran, serving in Army Aircorp and the recipient of the Silver Star and Bronze Star. His favorite hobby was his love to farm and be with his farm animals. Later in life his passion was to feed and look after the cattle that belong to his son, Gary. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, for 46 years, Juanita Roberts Salisbury, two brothers; Elwin and Charles Salisbury. Survivors include; two sons, Leslie Salisbury, wife, Janice and Gary Salisbury, wife, Suzy all of Hope, Arkansas, two daughters; Sandra Nivens, husband, Kenneth of Prescott, Arkansas and Barbara Carlyle of Hope, sister; Bernice Seigrist of Miami, Oklahoma, eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Visitation; 6:00 to 8:00pm on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at Brazzel-Oakcrest Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 10:00am, Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Lee Little will officiate. Burial in the Holly Grove Cemetery in the DeAnn Community. Arrangements are by Brazzel/Oakcrest The Funeral Home of Hope, Eddie Brazzel Director.
