Mr. Homer Stone, 89 of Hope, Arkansas passed away, Friday, March 9, 2012 in a Texarkana, Texas hospital. Mr. Stone was born in McCaskill, Arkansas on September 28, 1922 to Zach and Bessie Stingley Stone. Mr. Stone was a self-employed mechanic in the Hope area for 50 plus years, an avid fisherman and raccoon hunter and a dog trainer. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Delight. Mr. Stone was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Era Mae Stone and wife, Ruth Stone, his brothers, Harold, Byron and Jim, his sisters; Bertha Fielding, Mamie Pickett, Lilly Bingham and Verna Rogers. He is survived by his son; Richard Stone and wife, Marietta of Houston, Texas, daughter; Linda Marie Walters of Delight and sister, Helen Ruth Roland of Ore City, Texas, five grandchildren; Marcus, David and Robin Stone, DeWayne Gray and Michelle Smead, his six great-grandchildren; Hannah Stone, Ava Grace Stone, Micah Stone, Jeremiah Stone, John Mark Stone and Hadden Smead. The Stone Family will receive friends, Sunday, March 11 at Brazzel/Oakcrest The Funeral Home of Hope between the hours of 3:00 and 5:00 p.m. Funeral service for Mr. Stone will be, 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 12 in the chapel of Brazzel/Oakcrest The Funeral Home.
