Obituary

Huey Lee Kidd, born November 3, 1941, to Garland and Opal Kidd in Spring Hill, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at St. Michael's Hospital in Texarkana, Texas.

Huey is preceded in death by his parents, Garland and Opal Kidd; his sister, Bonnie Leonard; his brothers, Kenny and Varner Kidd; nephews, Bruno and Lance Kidd; and a close family friend, Jason Fry. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 54 years, Judy Kidd; his devoted daughter, Courtney Powell, and her husband, Frankie Powell; and his two adored granddaughters, Averi Jade and Reese Paisley Powell. He is also survived by his brothers, Clint (Joy) Kidd, Gary (Brenda) Kidd, and Dent (Cindy) Kidd; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.

Throughout his life, Huey worked at Champion Auto Parts in Hope, Arkansas, for more than twenty years and later owned and operated Kidd Service Station on Hervey Street for twenty-two years—places where friendships were built and memories made that will never be forgotten.

Huey was a faithful member of Spring Hill Christian Church, where his steadfast faith guided his heart in every relationship he formed. Known affectionately as "Slick," Huey was a devoted family man who placed Judy, Courtney, Frankie, and the girls above all else. He took great pride in his entire Kidd family and made sure they all knew how deeply he loved them.

Huey's love for Spring Hill and the Bears ran deep. He never missed a chance to show his support for the heart of his hometown and its people—from congratulatory Facebook comments to cheerful visits at Dollar General. His kindness and loyalty were constants in the community he so dearly loved.

Those who knew Huey likely received a nickname, heard a story, or shared a laugh they'll never forget. The countless stories about "Slick" reflect a legacy of love, loyalty, laughter, and community that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. at Spring Hill Christian Church, with the funeral service following at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, October 11, 2025 officiated by Brother Revel Kidd.
