Mr. James "Buddy" Powell, age 82, of Hope, Arkansas, went to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday, September 01, 2020, in Hope, Arkansas. He was born March 17, 1938 to Joel Vollie and Mary Lee Cox Powell in Gurnsey, AR.  He lived his life dedicated to his family and his Savior. He was a roofing contractor and took great pride in his company, Powell Brothers Roofing. He also served in the United States Air Force. Buddy loved going to Spring Hill football games and enjoyed being called "Pawpaw" by many Spring Hill bears. He is preceded in death by his parents, one daughter; Lisa Crow, three brothers; Joel Lee, Doyle Powell, Virgle Powell, two sisters; Etta Bell Hawthorne and Alene Stagner.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Betty Webb Powell of Hope, AR, three children; James "Randy" Powell, wife Pattie, Cathy Brown, husband Billy, and Christy Powell, husband Mark, all of Hope, AR, ten grandchildren; Jamie Powell, wife Hannah, Jeremy Powell, wife Amber, Crystal Scott, Micah Brown, fiancé Alana, Jerad Brown, wife Stephanie, Andy Powell, fiancé Abby, Whit "Summer" Powell, Roprea Jones, Nikki Crowe and Seth Crowe, ten great grandchildren, one sister; Audrey Robbins, one brother; Dillard Powell, wife Joyce, one sister-in-law; Phyliss Malone, many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 3, 2020 at BRAZZEL/Oakcrest The Funeral Home of Hope.
