Obituary

Mr. James Richard Dick Snell, age 79 of Emmet, Arkansas passed away, Sunday, November 18, 2012, at St. Michaels Hospital in Texarkana, Texas. He was born November 28, 1932, in Emmet, Arkansas, to Stephen Ware and Coy Deaton Snell, Sr. He was the former owner of Emmet Mercantile and Prescott Builders and was a member of Emmet First Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and Adult Sunday School Teacher. Mr. Snell was a Councilman on the Emmet City Council, Sexton of Snell Cemetery, Emmet, and was a former President of the Emmet School Board. He was a fisherman of whom it was said, he could catch a fish out of a mud-hole, and also an avid golfer being the former club champion at Hope and Prescott Country Clubs. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Vickie Lynn Snell and a brother Stephen Ware Snell, Jr. Mr. Snell is survived by his wife of 58 years of marriage, Gayle Jenkins Snell of Emmet, a son, Richard Snell and wife Lora of Emmet, a daughter, Robyn Hall and husband Tim of Emmet and three grandchildren, Drake Hall, Landon Snell and Haylee Crocker and husband Jacob. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Tuesday, November 20, at Brazzel/Oakcrest The Funeral Home of Hope. Funeral service will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, November 21, at the Emmet First Baptist Church, Bro. Johnny Jackson and Bro. Neil Ridling officiating. Burial will follow at Snell Cemetery, Emmet.
