Mr. James Richard "Doc" Rowe, age 87, of Hope, passed away, Tuesday, February 26, 2013 in a local hospital. Mr. Rowe was born October 21, 1925 in Okolona, Arkansas to Columbus Franklin and Delia Porter Rowe. He is a member of Unity Baptist Church in Hope, a US Army Veteran of World War II, a former Hope Policeman, retiring as the Assistant Chief of Police in 1976 with 25 years of service and later becoming the founder and owner of Rowe's Leather in Hope. He is preceded in death by; his parents, his first wife, Betty Sue Rowe, his brothers; Dalton, Porter, Robert, Tony and Carl Rowe, his sisters; Margie Lou Page, Florence Spradlin and Willie Ann Cox. Survivors include; wife, Sue Hart Rowe of Hope, son; Kenny Rowe, wife, Beverly of Hope, his daughter; Peggy Powell of Hope, four grandchildren; Gary Powell, wife, Kryste, Richard Powell, Melanie Finigan, husband, Tom, Cody Rowe, wife, Kim, six great-grandchildren; Lauren Powell, Rodney Powell, Karsyn Powell, Koby Powell, Aftyn Rowe and Carter Finigan. Visitation, 6:00 to 8:00pm, Wednesday, February 27, at Brazzel/Oakcrest The Funeral Home. Funeral service, 2:00pm, Thursday, February 28, 2013 at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home Chapel. Rev.
