James O. Volentine, of Hope, Arkansas, left his earthly body on May 7, 2023 at the VA Hospital in Little Rock at the age of 85.

James was born in Hope, Arkansas to the late Luther and Ednie Volentine,on February 19, 1938.   On May 27, 1956, James married the love of his life Doris.  They were blessed with 2 children, Rick and Debbie.  He retired from the Air Force in 1978, serving 20 years, a Vietnam Veteran and TSGT.  He moved back to his childhood home of Hope and began his small engine business and Jim's Lock and Key, He retired fully in January 2015.   James was a man of faith, serving as a Deacon for the last 38 years and had a strong love for his church family and friends.  He was always ready and willing to go the extra mile for anyone.

James is preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Ednie Volentine, Brothers - Howard, Horace, and Carlon Volentine, Sister - Florence Ward.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Doris Volentine, son Rick (Marthell) of Hope AR, daughter Debbie (James) of Benton AR; Grandchildren Kristeana Volentine of Sherwood AR, Jenna Ward (Jake) of Benton, AR, Bryan Reid of Dierks; Great Grandchildren Lakelynn Ward and Ryan Reid (Crystal); one great grandchild, Cooper Reid.  A Host of Nieces and Nephews who will miss him dearly.

Visitation will be held at Brazzel Oakcrest on May 9, 2023 6-8pm.   Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of Brazzel Oakcrest on May 10, 2023, 2pm. .  Bro. Scott Neathery and Bro Gary Johnson officiating.  Burial will immediately follow at Friendship Cemetery, McCaskill AR.
