Mr. Jerry Wayne Groves, age 76 of Hope, Arkansas passed away, Saturday, December 14, 2013 at his home in Hope. Mr. Groves was born February 9, 1937 in McNeil, Arkansas to Charles Sherman and Fannie Randolph Groves. He is a retired Electrician Mate First Class from the U.S. Navy with 20 years of service, serving during the Vietnam War and also retired from Champion Parts in Hope. Mr. Groves attended the Hope Church of Christ in Hope, Arkansas. He is preceded in death by his parents, son; Charles Sherman Groves, daughter; Coleen Joy Groves, three brothers; Jimmy, Bill and Buck Groves and his sister; Betty McEarl. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Ryan Groves of Hope, three daughters; Margaret Groves of Pawcatuck, CT, Carol Almond, husband, Dennis of Cale, Regina McGregor, husband, Steven of Avery, TX, 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and other family members. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations to: DAV Chapter 51 #7 Globe Ave. Texarkana, Arkansas 71854. Funeral service will be 10:00am, Tuesday, December 17 at Brazzel/Oakcrest The Funeral Home of Hope, with Mr. Tommy Mounts officiating.
