Mr. Jerry Whitehurst, age 72 of Hope, Arkansas passed away Friday, October 23, 2015 in Little Rock, Arkansas. Mr. Whitehurst was born on May 25, 1943 in Heber Springs, Arkansas to John L. and Valora Orman Whitehurst. He is a Christian and is now in the presence of God. Mr. Whitehurst worked for the Arkansas Highway Department for a number of years, then retired to work on his farm, and care for his cattle and land. He loved spending time with his hunting buddies, helping his neighbors and friends, and he dearly loved his family. Mr. Whitehurst is preceded in death by his parents, John and Valora Whitehurst, a brother-in-law, Mike Montgomery, and a niece, Donna Sue Wayne. Survivors include: two daughters; Kerri Cardi of Rhode Island, Cheryl Meigs and her husband, Chip, of Okeechobee, Florida, four sisters; Shirley Wayne of Iowa, Marilyn Montgomery, Judy Thomas and her husband, Jim, and Donna McNew and her husband, Ron, all of North Little Rock, Arkansas, five grandchildren; Cory Fossa and his wife, Lindsey, Camryn Fossa and Cassandra Fossa, Dean and Jack Radebaugh, one great-grandson, Camden Fossa, his sweetheart, Ida Goins, and many nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Visitation for Mr. Whitehurst will be 6:00 to 8:00pm on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at BRAZZEL/Oakcrest Funeral Home. Funeral service is 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at BRAZZEL/Oakcrest Funeral Chapel, with Bro. Randall Whitehurst officiating. Burial in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
