Mr. Jewell Poindexter, age 79 of Bodcaw, Arkansas passed away, Saturday, August 9, 2014. Mr. Poindexter was born on, Sunday, August 18, 1935 in Mt. Holly, Arkansas to Mike and Bessy Watson Poindexter. He was a member of the Bodcaw #1 Baptist Church, a retired mowing crew supervisor with the Arkansas Highway Department, Prescott. He enjoyed going deer hunting and playing his guitar. He was a devoted and loving family man that loved spending time with his grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, of 38 years, Mrs. Mary Alice Poindexter, his parents, four brothers; Homer, Harold, Floyd and Morris Poindexter and three sister; Etta Sanders, Frances Holmes and Mildred McMillan. Survivors include; two sons; Jewell Poindexter, Jr. and Missy and John Michael "Mikey" Poindexter all of Bodcaw, two brothers; Wilbur and William Poindexter both of Bodcaw, four grandchildren; Hayden Michael Poindexter, Thomas Carter Poindexter, Racie Poindexter and Payton Poindexter; other family members and friends. Visitation for Mr. Poindexter will be, 6:00 to 8:00pm, Monday, August, 11, 2014 at the Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home in Hope. Funeral service, 2:00pm Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at Bodcaw #1 Baptist Church. Burial to follow in Bodcaw Cemetery, with Bro. Joe Brown and Bro. Lane Garner officiating.
