Mr. Jim Byrd, age 65 of Spring Hill passed away, Sunday, January 25, 2015 in a local hospital. He was born in Clovis, New Mexico on, March 1, 1949 to William "Bill" Byrd, Sr. and Tommie Epting Byrd. Jim was a member of the Spring Hill United Methodist Church in Spring Hill, owner of Ace Welding and Mowing and he was an avid fisherman & sportsman. Jim was dedicated to his family never missing a ballgame or an opportunity to see his kids and grand-kids shine. Jim was preceded in death by his father, Mr. William "Bill" Byrd, Sr. Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Mary Lawson Byrd of Spring Hill, Arkansas, his mother; Mrs. Tommie Epting Byrd of Spring Hill, three daughters; Bren Yocom, and Jody , Shelly Byrd and Chris, and Marissa Sinyard and Jon all of Spring Hill, his brother; Bill Byrd, Jr. wife, Norma of Hope, two brother-in-laws; Tommy Lawson, wife, Angie of Stuttgart and Joe Lawson, wife, April of Hot Springs, eight grandchildren; Carter, Bailey, Maicyn Yocom, Slade Cox, Mitchell Sloan Byrd, Salem Short, Max Sinyard and Trevor Sinyard. His is also, survived by his constant companion, "Saydie", by his "special" fishing buddies, several nieces and nephews, friends and other family members. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to Spring Hill Athletic Foundation or a charity of your choice. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00pm, Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home in Hope. The Byrd Family will have a private memorial service in honor of Jim.
