Obituary

Mr. Jim Hogue, age 94 of Hope, Arkansas, passed away, Friday, August 22, 2014, in Texarkana, Texas. He was born September 17, 1919, in Willisville, Arkansas to Richard Porter, Sr, and Birdie Wise Hogue. Mr. Hogue was a retired self-employed Chevrolet Auto dealer and salesman, a member of the H.O.P.E. club and was a member of First Baptist Church in Hope. He was a past member of the Hope Rotary Club, Eastern Star, Mason, and a past Board Member of the Hope Country Club, and past President of Nocona Texas Rotary Club He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, but most of all he loved life and being around family and friends. His favorite hobby was his love for golf which he didn't take it up until late in life, he liked to hunt, fish and play games and was a great story teller to all that would listen. Mr. Hogue was preceded in death by his parents, wife and mother of his children, Johnnie Marriot Hogue, daughter, Jule' Hogue Robinson brother, Truel Hogue and sister, Margaret McFarland. Mr. Hogue is survived by his wife of 28 years, Barbara Polk Hogue of Hope, son, Ronny Cornelius and wife Renee of Bryant, Arkansas, son-in-law, Michael Robinson of Lilburn, Georgia, daughters, Janet Bonner and husband James of Maryville, Tennessee, Jerri McNatt of Nocona, Texas and Kennetha McClelland and husband Michael of Jasper, Arkansas, brother, Richard P. Hogue and wife Rosetta, of Hope, Arkansas, sister, Novalene Hogue Slatton, of Hope, Arkansas, grandchildren, Christopher and Mark Robinson, Chase and Cabe Bonner, Lucas Moffitt, Dustin Taylor, Michaela McMillan, Will and Thomas Cornelius, great-grandchildren, Erin, Sean, Kian, Ryan, Cody, Wyatt, and Beau. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Texarkana, 803 Spruce Street, Texarkana, Texas, 75501 and First Baptist Church of Hope, 315 South Main, Hope, Arkansas, 71801. Visitation for Mr. Hogue will be 3:00 to 5:00pm, Sunday, August 24, 2014, at Brazzel/Oakcrest The Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 2:00pm, Monday, August 25, 2014, at Brazzel/Oakcrest Chapel with Bro. Mark Fischer officiating, burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Hope.
