Obituary

Mr. Jimmy Harlon Cox, age 74, of Spring Hill, Arkansas passed away Friday, June 7, 2013 at Christus St. Michaels Health Center in Texarkana, Texas. He was born May 7, 1939, in Hope, Arkansas, to Noah and Irene Olds Cox. He was retired as Plant Manager of Calmaine Foods in Hope and a member of Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church in Hope. Mr. Cox was a loving husband, father and grandfather and also an avid hunter. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Richard Cox, and four brothers, Earnest, William, Hoyet and Durl Cox. Mr. Cox is survived by his wife, Ellie Eckdahl Cox, a son Marcus Turley of Little Rock, Arkansas, three daughters, Kathy May of Texarkana, Arkansas, Kristine Hokett and husband Skip of Little Rock, and Stacey Alvarez of Spring Hill, Arkansas, two brothers, Don Cox of Reklaw, Texas, and Buddy Cox of Spring Hill, three sisters, Joan Lively of Hope, Betty Lee of Spring Hill, and Barbara Burns of Spring Hill, five grandchildren, Mandy Adkins and husband Brian, Ryan Jones, Ronin Alvarez, Alexandra Hokett and Jeff Hokett and wife Megan, two great-grandchildren, Colby Adkins and MacKenzie Adkins, numerous other family members and a host of friends. Rosary service will be 6:00 to 7:00 pm, and visitation until 8:00 pm, Monday, June 10, at Brazzel/Oakcrest The Funeral Home of Hope. Funeral service for Mr. Cox will be 10:00 am, Tuesday, June 11, at Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Huckabee Cemetery in Spring Hill.
