Joe
Burson
Jan 16, 1963 — Jul 25, 2023
Joe Allen Burson, age 60, of Emmet, AR passed away on July 25, 2023.
Joe was born to Virginia & Ronald Burson on January 16, 1963 in Texarkana, TX and spent his childhood & early life growing up in Fulton, AR.
Joe received his diploma from Hope High School early due to his astoundingly high grade point average allowing him to be accepted into the Air Force at 17 years old; he was stationed in Portugal and was an E-4 Senior Airman from 1980-1984. He then became a correctional officer and went on to become specialized in industrial maintenance, diesel mechanics, air conditioning & refrigeration, and electricity. He retired from Cooper Tire as an industrial electrician to spend his remaining days porch sittin', beer drinkin', & givin' 'em hell.
Joe was a jack of all trades and a friend to many. He loved rock & roll music, building & tinkering with just about anything, teaching & influencing young minds with any skill or trade he could pass along, and especially loved restoring muscle cars. His "baby", the infamous canary yellow 1970 Ford Mustang he got when he was 21 years old, he spent all of his free time working on for nearly four decades.
Joe is preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Simmons Burson; great-niece, Scarlett Biddle; and his daughters mother, Linda Parmer Almond.
Joe is survived by his children Mitzy Petty (Casey), Christopher Jackson (Keri), Britney Crawford, and Billy Terrell (Julie); father Ronald Burson (Peggy); brothers Charlie Burson & Ronald "Buddy" Burson Jr Robinson; sister Rachel McDonald (Rusty); grandchildren Connor Petty, Everett Petty, & Aslynn Jackson; special niece and nephew Danielle Green & Brian Green; and a host of other beloved relatives and friends.
