Mr. J. O. Bailey, of Olympia, WA. died at the age of 92 on January 16, 2009, with family at his side. J. O. was born in Blevins, Arkansas, on May 31, 1916, to William Douglas Bailey and Myrtle Phillips Bailey. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Mary Sain Bailey, Olympai, WA; his children, Wanda Bailey James, Olympia, WA; Lynn Bailey, Show Low, AZ; and Bruce Bailey, Saipan, M.P.; five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Lou Taylor. He left Arkansas for Arizona with his family as a child, graduating from Phoenix Union High School and then working for the Southern Pacific Railroad for 41 years as a conductor. After retirement, J.O. and Mary moved to Rodessa, LA, where he pursued his passion for raising and racing thoroughbred horses. J.O. was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Ida, LA. GRAVESIDE SERVICE will be 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 3, 2009, at Macedonia Cemetery, Blevins, Arkansas. Burial to follow. Arrangements by Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home in Hope, Arkansas.
