Mr. John Kenneth Harris, 76 of Geneva, Illinois, formerly of Prescott, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, May 26, 2010, at his home in Geneva. He was born June 28, 1933, in Prescott, Arkansas to Mont and Grace Harris. He graduated from Blevins High School in 1952, and attended Harding College in Searcy, Arkansas. He went to Illinois in the summer of 1954, to earn money to return to Harding that fall. While there, he met and married his wife on November 25, 1954 in Libertyville, Illinois. He has since resided in Illinois. He was a Partner and Vice-President of Fox Valley Drywall for 23 years. He was an insurance agent for Country Companies for 12 years. He was very active in his community serving as President of the Geneva Rotary Club 1987-1988. He enjoyed serving other people as he devoted many hours of volunteer services at Delnor Hospital, Marianjoy, Central Dupage Hospital, Geneva Park District Little League, Network of Nations and Christ Community Church. He and his wife enjoyed attending the school and park district sporting events, watching their local youth mature. He is preceded in death by his parents and by five brothers, Hayden, Ralph, James, Paul and Monty Harris. SURVIVORS INCLUDE: His wife (of 55 years) Darlene Groves Harris, Geneva, Illinois. Two Daughters: Judy Aldridge and Dean, Sugar Grove, Illinois. Cheryln Cameron and Paul Batavia, Illinois. Three Grand Children: Violet Gronberg and Phil, Valerie Mittman and Matt, Nick Cameron. Four Great-Grandchildren: Megan, Ethan, Lila and Caleb. One Brother: Joe Harris and Mary Louise, Prescott,Arkansas. Three Sisters: Elizabeth Wilson Tinsley and Aubrey, Prescott, Arkansas, Martha Sisson and Harley, Hope, Arkansas, Esther Wilson and Derrell Tyler, Texas; many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 2, 2010, at Christ Community Church, Geneva, Illinois. Arrangements by Malone Funeral Home, Geneva, Illinois.
