Mr. John Langdon Hood passed away Sunday morning, January 1, 2017 at the age of 80.  John was the youngest of six siblings born to Ralph C. Hood and Virginia R. Hood of Bessemer City, NC.  He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers William R. Hood, Frank A. Hood, Ralph C. Hood, Jr., and sister Margarite Hood Cleet.

John is survived by his wife of 58 years, Janet Ford Hood, daughters Dana Hood Lail (Jimmy), Shannon Hood Strimple (Michael), grandsons Justin A.B. Cagle(Megan), JW Lail III (Katie), John Langdon Lail, a sister; Charlotte Hood Cox in Oregon and many nieces and nephews.

John served 8 years in the US Army and then for thirty years he was a Textile Manager in NC, TN and AR. The last 15 years he has worked in Real Estate with Nevada County Real Estate in Prescott, AR.

He was an avid golfer.

A memorial service will be held, Friday, January 6, 2017 at First United Methodist Church of Prescott with visitation from 10-11am and service at 11am officiated by Pastor Sue Howe.
