Mr. John McClenton, age 71 of Prescott passed away, Wednesday, August 14 in Wadley Regional Medical Center in Texarkana. He was born November 3, 1941, in Hempstead County, Arkansas, to Frank and Sally Glenn McClenton. He was a retired Debarker Operator at Potlatch Lumber Company in Prescott and was a member of Open Door Ministry in Hope. Mr. McClenton was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Frank, Walter, Harold and Jim McClenton, and three sisters, Geneva Nolen, Georgia Mae Warren and Celia Mae Watson. Mr. McClenton is survived by his wife of 52 years, Bertha McClenton, three sons, John Fitzgerald McClenton and wife Teresa of Perrytown, Arkansas, Rico Lovell McClenton and wife Gail of Hope, Arkansas, and Joseph Tyrone McClenton and wife Renea of El Paso, Texas, five daughters, Sharon Ann Davis and husband Lee of Texarkana, Texas, Yolanda Shena Martin and husband Jimmy Dean of Prescott, Yvetta T. McClenton of Prescott, Rebecca A. McClenton of Prescott and Lemetra Renee McClenton of Prescott, a brother, Al William McClenton of Kansas City, Missouri, three sisters, Lottie Butler of Kansas City, Mary Jo Fitchett of Kansas City, and Ollie Faye Richardson of Antoine, Arkansas, twenty-six grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren, numerous other family members, and a host of friends. Wake for Mr. McClenton will be 6:00 to 7:00 pm, Friday August 16, at Brazzel/Cornish The Funeral Home of Prescott. Funeral service will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, August 17, at Blevins School Gymnasium, in Blevins, Arkansas, with Pastor Billy Ray Roberts officiating.
