Joy Nell Dougan age 86 of Blevins, Arkansas passed away Friday September 4, 2026.

Joy was born in McCaskill, Arkansas May 1, 1940, to parents: George Lee Fielding and Ida Bell (Cantrell) Fielding.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, brother LeeRoy Fielding, two sisters Delores Wynn, Betty (Wiece) Terrell, her husband Penny F. Dougan, and son Victor L. Dougan. She leaves behind two daughters Pamela J Bowden of Barling Arkansas, Terri L. Dougan of Prescott, Arkansas, two sons Gregory A. Dougan of Prescott, Arkansas, Tracy J. Dougan of Irving, Texas two sisters Theresa K Brown and Sherry K Cross both of Prescott, Arkansas, her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, along with her beloved in-laws.

Joy was loved and respected by all who knew her. Her outgoing personality made her a favorite companion. She had many occupations throughout the years but the one she loved and stayed with the longest was as a caretaker/sitter for those who needed help taking care of themselves and other duties. She met and kept many friends during this time and none of them forgot her. She never had to look for positions; word of mouth kept her busy.

Joy was a member of the Prescott Church of Christ. She volunteered for and was nominated for many projects only turning down those she couldn't fit into her schedule.

Joy enjoyed fishing and the outdoors in general; she also liked to practice her drawing skills, reading, playing Yahtzee and had many other interest. As Joy slowed down, she kept her independence by going to a place that captured her heart as well as her interest. If you needed her from 9-12 Monday through Friday, you only had to go to the Nevada County Senior Citizen Center. She enjoyed visiting and competing in the offered activities with the men and women attending the Center.
