Mrs. Joyce McRoy, age 84, of Hope, Arkansas passed away, Saturday, May 18, 2013 at her residence. She was born December 10, 1928 in Hope, Arkansas to Sid B. and Zannie Mae Skinner. She was a social worker for the Department of Human Services, a home maker and a Seventh Day Adventist. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Willard McRoy; a daughter, Kathy McRoy; two brothers, J.C. Collier and Virgil Skinner and two sisters, Geraldine Collier-Cofield and Gracie Collier-Ross. Joyce was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a caring and giving individual serving many people throughout her long career with the Arkansas Department of Human Services. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her daughter; Brenda Brantley, husband, Dave of Hope; her sister, Iva Collier-Davis of Hope and three grandson; Herbert Parmer, Jr. of Hope, John Parmer of Austin, Texas and Robert Parmer of New Boston, Texas as well many nieces, nephews and friends. The family will receive friends, 4:00 to 6:00pm, Sunday, May 19 at Brazzel/Oakcrest The Funeral Home in Hope. Funeral service for Mrs. McRoy, will be 2:00pm, Monday, May 20 at Oak Grove United Methodist Church. Burial, Oak Grove Cemetery, Shover Springs Community.
