Mr. J.R. Lloyd Jernigan, age 87 of Emmet, Arkansas passed away, Saturday, January 24, 2015 in Texarkana, Texas. He was born in Bells, Tennessee on Sunday, January 15, 1928 to Robert and Winnie Kinchen Jernigan. He was a retired truck driver, a member of the First Baptist Church in Emmet and had served in the US Army, as a Paratrooper, serving in the 12th Airborne Division. He is preceded in death by his parents, two sons; Jerry Dennis and Lloyd Stanley Jernigan, three brothers; R.C., Estell and James Jernigan, five sisters; Clister Wilson, Oda Mae Peffer, Hartense Barger, Flossie Lewis and Jessie Reason. Survivors include his wife, Maxine Jernigan of Emmet, two sisters; Mrs. Ophelia Duncan, husband, Billy and Mrs. Opal Adams all of Bells, TN, four grandchildren; Chad Jernigan, wife, Brandy, Justin Jernigan, wife, Samantha all of Texarkana, AR, Kyle Jernigan, wife, Angie of Oklahoma City, OK and Kayla Kuehnert, husband, Tim of Tulsa, OK and seven great-grandchildren, other family member and friends. Visitation; 4:00 to 6:00pm, Sunday, January 25, 2015 at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home in Hope. Graveside service, 10:00am, Monday, January 26, 2015 at Snell Cemetery in Emmet. Burial to follow.
