Obituary

Mr. Judge Wise, 92 of Emmet, Arkansas passed away, Friday, October 14, 2011 in Medical Park Hospital in Hope. Judge was born January 15, 1919 near Prescott, Arkansas to the late Warren Wise and Martha Jane Carmen Wise. Judge was a hard working man and believed in high achievements in education, even though in his younger years he did not get to go to school regularly, because he and his Dad were farmers and he was needed at home to help with farm chores. Later on, as he grew up and became a man he seeked other jobs and became a very successful employee of Reynolds Metal Company in Gum Springs, Arkansas, where he retired after 28 years of employment. In 1946 Judge met and married Nellie Warren Wise and from this union five children was born. Even though working on a public job, his favorite hobby was farming. He loved to work in his garden, growing his vegetables. Many people admired him for his passion at growing his produce, he could be known as a Master Gardner. Judge accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of St. Thomas Baptist Church, where he served as Chairman of the Deacons Board, was a member of a local singing quartet, he devoted time to the up keep of the Elizabeth Cemetery and always found time to address the many different concerns of the community. He was a member of the Elizabeth Lodge #193 in Blevins, Arkansas. He served faithfully in all these capacities until his health began to fail. Judge was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, of 58 years, Nellie Wise, all his siblings and four of his children. He leaves to cherish his memory one daughter; Stella M. Scoggins and husband, Charlie of Hope, Arkansas, one son, Willie Lee Wise and wife, Cherrie of Hawthorne, California, one God son Earnest Monk and wife, Arlene of Blevins, Arkansas, one sister-in-law, Freddie Hubbard and husband, Fredrick of Kansas City, Missouri and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. For those that knew him well and loved him, he will be greatly missed. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 7:00pm, Friday, October 21, 2011 at Brazzel/Cornish The Funeral Home in Prescott, Arkansas. Funeral services are 11:00am, Saturday, October 22, 2011 at Brazzel/Cornish The Funeral Home Chapel. Burial to follow in Elizabeth Cemetery. Arrangements are by Brazzel/Cornish The Funeral Home of Prescott, Arkansas.
