Judith L. Mathews, 72, of Jacksonville, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, December 5, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Irene Cornelius, and one brother; Tom Cornelius.

Judith was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who loved her family exceptionally well. She spent over twenty years substitute teaching at Northside and Southside  Jr. High in Jacksonville. She also taught second grade Sunday school for twenty five years.

Survivors include her loving and faithful husband; Charles Mathews, one son; Nelson Mathews and wife, Missy, of Carlisle, AR, two daughters; Barbara Dobson, and husband, Troy, of Baker, FL, Shannon Ferguson of Morrilton, AR, brother, Jim Cornelius and wife Sue; sisters, Jo Ridling and husband, Mike; Donna Dixon and husband, Gayle, all of Prescott; six grandchildren; Sarah and Toni Mathews of Carlisle, AR, Matt Dobson, and wife, Lauren, of Atlanta, GA, Ashley, Rachel, and Allison Ferguson of Morrilton, AR.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, December 8, 2016 at Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church in Prattsville, AR, with Bro. Dan Goodman, Bro. Neal Ridling and Bro.Matt Dobson officiating. Committal service will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, at Missionary Grove Cemetery in Prescott, AR. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home & Crematory.
