Ms. Katherine Donnell Buchanan, 96 of Prescott passed away, Thursday, October 27, 2011 in a local nursing home. Ms. Buchanan was born July 26, 1915, to Dr. Albert S. and Ethel Tompkins Buchanan. She is preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Helen Buchanan Dalrymple and best friend, Alice Rand. Ms. Buchanan was a graduate of Tulane University and Georgetown Law School and accomplished business person. She is a veteran of the United States Navy and a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church of Prescott. Survivors include; one nephew, Carl Dalrymple, Jr. of Prescott; one great-nephew, William Albert Dalrymple of Prescott; two great-nieces, Nita Kay Freeman of Conway and Katherine Crain of Prescott and eight great-great nieces and nephews. Graveside service for Ms. Buchanan will be 2:00pm, Saturday, October 29, 2011 at DeAnn Cemetery in Prescott. Rev. Charlotte Cobb and Rev. Perry Johnson will officiate the service. Burial to follow.
