Obituary

Kathryn J. Rhodes, 73, of Hot Springs, died Friday, October 30, 2009 at home. Born March 3, 1936 in Curtis, Arkansas to Murl and Mattie Josephine Lake Jones, she was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Fred Rhodes, two brothers, Kenneth Jones and Everett Jones; one sister, Marjorie Jones and three grandchildren. Survivors include four daughters and three sons-in-law, Patty and Dwight Davis and Rosemary and Danny Thomas, all of Glenwood, Barbara Abbott and Cheryl and Rob De Los Santos, all of Hot Springs; two sons and daughters-in-law, Frederick and Diane Rhodes of Ft. Pierce, Florida and David and Sherry Rhodes of Ada, Oklahoma; twenty-six grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Ellen Fugitt of Murfreesboro; one brother, Phil Jones of Texas. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 4, at First Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor Doug Jones officiating. Pallbearers will be Matt Easley, Michael Deitz, Stephen Stasiak, Robert House, Steven Hale, Darby Davis, Bryan Thomas, Ethan Stasiak, Eddie Column and Jim Elliott. Honorary Pallbearers are First Freewill Baptist Church Family, Dr. Jeffrey Tauth and Staff and St. Joseph Hospital. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery, Patmos, Arkansas. Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 3, at Gross Funeral Home, Hot Springs, Arkansas. Local arrangements are by Brazzel-Oakcrest The Funeral Home of Hope, Arkansas.
