Leon Doyle (L.D.) Ashbrook, age 82, formerly of Austin Tx, passed away Wednesday November 1st, at Baptist Health Medical Center in Arkadelphia Arkansas.  Leon was born January 9th 1941, to Doyle and Elsie Ashbrook, in Prescott Arkansas. He was the oldest of nine children.  Leon was preceded in death by his Parents, brothers Harold Ray, Glendon, Roger, sisters Sandra and . Leon is survived by brothers Wayne (Debbie) of Culpepper Va., Danny (Debbie) of Jonesboro Ar., Timmy (Terri) of Kirby Ar. sister Sharon Meyers, Prescott, Ar. and numerous Nieces and Nephews, and his four legged son "Snickers".

After graduating from PHS in 1959, Leon served in the Army, Air Force, and Navy Reserve.  In between these military years, Leon attended college at Pepperdine (Ca), Henderson State (Ar), ultimately Graduating from University of Texas Austin, earning his BSN in nursing in 1975.  As a registered nurse, he worked as supervising nurse at Austin State Hospital until his retirement in 1999.  After retiring from State Hospital, Leon continued to work at other medical facilities in the area until 2012.

Leon loved his family and friends, as well gardening, classical music and opera.  With a large heart and matching smile, he was a giving and caring brother to everyone he met. Thanks for the Memories.
