Obituary

MRS. LINDA PEARL ALMOND RACANELLO, 85, of Arlington, Texas (Formerly of Prescott, Arkansas)passed away Wed., May 7, 2008, at Heritage Oaks Nursing Home, Arlington, Texas. She was born on January 2, 1923 in Prescott, Ark. To Hollis Obediah and Roberta Mae Almond. She worked as an accountant in the Showboat Restaurant and Hotel in Greenwich, CT. Linda, who as a young girl was known as Pearl, left Prescott and briefly lived in San Francisco, during World War II, where she met her husband, Anthony Racanello. Together they moved to Port Chester, New York and raised their family there. Later they retired together to Dania, Florida She spent most of her recent years in Arlington, TX., where she attended Calvery Baptist Church and was an active member of that congregation. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother; Harlan Othar Son Almond; and four sisters, Leota Honey, Neita Bailey, Geneva Barham and Matty Wesson. HER SURVIVORS INCLUDE: THREE DAUGHTERS: Diane Seller, Port Chester, New York. Judith Zimmerman, Irving, Texas. Roslyn Racanello, Mechanicsville, Maryland. And Six Grandchildren, Eight Great-Grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and other family members. FUNERAL SERVICES will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 10, 2008, at Laneburg Baptist Church, Laneburg, Ark., with Rev. officiating. Burial to follow in Laneburg Cemetery, Laneburg, Arkansas. Arrangements by Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home, Prescott, Arkansas.
