Obituary

Mrs. Lola Mae Dorman Allen, age 92, of Hope, Arkansas passed away Saturday, April 26, 2014, at Hope Heaven Retirement Center in Hope. She was born March 28, 1922, in Shover Springs, Arkansas to Amos Green and Lola Purtle Dorman. She was a retired sales clerk and seamstress and was a member of Bodcaw #1 Baptist Church for 78 years. Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 53 years, James Edward Allen, brothers, Earl, Curtis, Olva, A.G. and Basil Dorman, sisters, Alta Mullins, Gladys Moorehead, Ruby Vines, Leona Garner and Opal Barger, and grandson, Vance Blackmon. Mrs. Allen is survived by her daughter, Linda Blackmon of Hope, sons, Terry Allen and wife Eris of Greenville, South Carolina, Mike Allen of Shover Springs, and Ken Allen and wife Cindy of Texarkana, Texas, brother, G.W. Dorman of Perrytown, sister, Jude Allen of Bodcaw nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends. Visitation for Mrs. Allen will be 6:00 to 9:00pm, Monday April 28, 2014, at Brazzel/Oakcrest The Funeral Home of Hope. Funeral service for Mrs. Allen will be 2:00pm, Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at Bodcaw #1 Baptist Church with Bro. Mike Rogers and Bro. Lane Garner officiating burial will follow in Bodcaw #1 Cemetery in Bodcaw. Arrangements by Brazzel/Oakcrest The Funeral Home of Hope, Eddie Brazzel, Director.
