Obituary

Mrs. Lola Stroud Golden, 86, began her new phase of her journey in eternity on Tuesday June 22, 2010. She was born March 26, 1924, in Hempstead County, Arkansas, to Benjamin Franklin and Fairy Malcolm Stroud. She was the last remaining of that generation. She was a member of First Assembly of God, Hope, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy C. Golden in 1971. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Carlene Clemons and Wesley; and Paula Kuhn and Karmel, both of Hope, Arkansas. Her daughters served as her primary caregivers in the last few months of her life. One son Gary L. Golden and Gaywyn of De Queen, Arkansas; Seven Grandchildren, Amy Gilbey and Brandon; Gigi Roberts and Mike; Andy Clemons; Grant Golden and Gina; Misty Stump and Jeremy; Kevin Clemons; and Benjamin Kuhn; and three great-grandchildren. Also survived by three special sisters-in-law, Gladys Stroud; Jean Stroud; and Jean Jeanes. Lola was a lady without many worldly desires. She wanted to be around her family, friends, and neighbor of sixty years, Pat Farris and her flock of chickens from which she blessed us all with fresh eggs.
