Mrs. Lou Perry, 84 of Columbus, Arkansas passed away Saturday, April 28, 2012 in Columbus, Arkansas. Mrs. Perry was born December 27, 1927 to Roy Hawthorne and Etta Clayton Hawthorne. She was a member of Columbus Baptist Church, she was the former president and vice-president of Columbus Volunteer Fire Department, she was a retired LPN for Memorial Hospital in Modesto, California. Her one hobby that she loved to do was quilting for herself and other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Frank Perry, three brothers; Leroy, Robert and Garland Hawthorne, one sister; Louise Ray . Survivors include; sons, Ed Williams of Tehachapi, California, Jay Williams of Fresno, California and Julian Perry of Phoenix, Arizona, one daughter; Sharon Kaye Smith of Columbus, Arkansas, four brothers; Ed Hawthorne, of DeQueen, Arkansas, Doyle Hawthorne of Hope, Arkansas, Clayton Hawthorne of Guernsey, Arkansas and Tommy Hawthorne of Columbus, Arkansas, three sisters; Norlean Griffin, Henrietta Hendricks and Jo Hicks all of Columbus, Arkansas, one grandson; Chris Lowery and wife Angela of Longview, Texas, 2 great-grandchildren and one special friend; Billy Lumpkin of Columbus, Arkansas. Visitation 6:00 to 8:00pm, Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at Brazzel/Oakcrest The Funeral Home in Hope. Funeral service will be 10:00am, Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at the Chapel of Brazzel/Oakcrest of Hope with burial to follow in Columbus Cemetery in Columbus, Arkansas.
