Mrs. Louise Smith Dowings, 74, of Emmet, Arkansas, passed away Friday, March 4, 2011, in Christus St. Michael Health System, Texarkana, Texas. Mrs. Dowings was born October 24, 1936 in Emmet, Arkansas to Earl Thomas and Viola Mae Dickerson Smith. She was a member of Harvest Baptist Church and a retired employee of Egg City. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert W. Dowings, a grandson, Brent Malardier, and a brother, Paul Smith. HER SURVIVORS INCLUDE: One Son: Bobby Dowings and Sherri, Emmet, Arkansas. Two Daughters: Gail Owen and Jimmy, Emmet, Arkansas and Deborah Brown and Tommy, Hope, Arkansas. Five Brothers: Thomas Smith, Henry Smith, Robert Smith, James Smith, and Wayne Smith, all of Hope. Four Grandchildren: Brandon Malardier, T.J. Brown, Coby Brown, and Patrick Brown. Four Great-Grandchildren: Braedon Malardier, Jacob Malardier, Makayla Brown, and Shaun Morrow. FUNERAL SERVICE: 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at the Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home Chapel, Hope, Arkansas, with Rev. Oliver McKamie officiating.
