Mrs. Lue V. Watters Schoonover, age 88, of Gurdon, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at Wadley Regional Medical Center at Hope. Mrs. Schoonover was born in Smithton, Arkansas on October 28, 1925 to Sam and Myrtle Bradshaw Watters. Mrs. Schoonover was a retired nurse. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Gurdon where she served in many capacities including playing the piano for many years. She was devoted to her children and grandchild. She loved to cook, garden, sew and decorate. Mrs. Schoonover was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Henry, Sammy, and sisters, Gladys Watters, Mattie Fay Watters, Ollie Mae Stanton, and Winnie Williams. Mrs. Schoonover is survived by her daughter Mary Beck and husband Jerry of Prescott, son, Keith Schoonover of Gurdon, and grandson, Jared Beck of Hawaii. Graveside Service for Mrs. Schoonover will be, 11:00am, Saturday, November 23, 2013 at Rose Hedge Cemetery in Gurdon with Bro. Jerry Hill officiating.
