Obituary

Mrs. Mae Wassell, 93, of Houston, Texas (Formerly of Hope, Ark.) peacefully passed away surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, June 14, 2007, in Houston, Texas. She was born on July 9, 1914, She was a homemaker and a Methodist. Linna Mae moved to San Antonio before her first birthday and lived there for the next 46 years. In 1960, she and her husband, Emmett Wassell, moved to Hope, Ark. where they lived until his death in 1997. Mrs. Wassell, affectionately called Maeme moved to Houston, Texas to be near her son, Emmett Jr. and his family. In San Antonio and Hope, Mr. Wassell was involved with her church and community activities. She was an avid golfer and played into her late 80's. She was passionate about her University of Texas teams and faithfully followed their games. She will be remembered for her ready smile and affable personality as well as her great cooking. We all celebrate her long and healthy life. HER SURVIVORS INCLUDE: HER SON: Emmett Wassell, Jr. and Jolyne, Houston, Texas ONE DAUGHTER: Bonnie Jefferson and Wayne, Wintergreen, Virginia, ONE STEP-DAUGHTER: Barrie Bohnwagner, Tulsa, Oklahoma FIVE GRANDCHILDREN: Craig Wassell, Brent Wassell; Jill , Ellen and Randy Jefferson; THREE GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Amanda Alex and Anna. Graveside Services 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 22, 2007, Memory Gardens Cemetery, Hope, Dr. Tandy Hanson officiating. Burial to follow. Arrangements by Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home, Hope, Ark. Family will receive friends, Thurs., June 21, 2007, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., at Brazzel/Oakcrest.
