Mrs. Margie Marie Morgan Compton, age 87, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, formerly of Prescott passed away, Tuesday, March 26, 2013, in Hot Springs. She was born December 21, 1925, in Prescott, to Ira Curtis and Pearl Vaughn Morgan. Mrs. Compton was a homemaker, retired cook with the Prescott School System and a member of First Baptist Church of Hot Springs. Her favorite hobby was quilting and she also enjoyed crocheting, yard work and traveling. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 40 years, Milton L. Compton, three brothers, William Rudolph Morgan, James Douglas Doc Morgan, LeRoy Morgan, and a sister, Fannie Mae Johnson. Mrs. Compton is survived by a son, Don Compton and wife Kay of Bismarck, Arkansas, two daughters, Linda Kay Mason and husband James of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, and Charlene Dee Dee Fear and husband Patrick of Pearcy, Arkansas, a sister Mary Sue Loe of Prescott, ten grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, numerous other family members and friends. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Thursday, March 28, at Brazzel/Cornish The Funeral Home of Prescott. Funeral service for Mrs. Compton will be 2:00 pm, Friday, March 29, at the Brazzel/Cornish Chapel in Prescott, Brother Doug Compton officiating. Burial will follow at DeAnn Cemetery in Prescott.
