Mrs. Margie Lou Gunter, age 87 of Hope, passed away, Wednesday, May 18, 2016 in Hope. Margie was born December 20, 1928 in Hope, Arkansas to Ernest and Flora Lee Putman May. She was a member of First Baptist Church for over 70 years and also a homemaker. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband of 61 years W. H. Gunter Jr., brother Arval May and one grandson Jay Beard.

Survivors, three daughters; Debbie Garrett and husband Dr. George of Hope, Arkansas, Becky Jester and husband Charles of Texarkana, Arkansas and Kathy Beard and husband Terry of Hope, Arkansas, one brother; Galen May and wife Joan of Hope, Arkansas, one brother-in-law Bill Gunter and wife Juanita of Hope, Arkansas, six grandchildren; Leslie Garrett Sarver of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Lindsay Garrett Chalmers of Benton, Arkansas, Tiffany Reyenga Moore of Laneburg , Arkansas, Trey Garrett of Little Rock, Arkansas, Andrew Jester of Texarkana, Arkansas and Courtney Beard Polk of Rogers, Arkansas and eleven great grandchildren.

Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00pm, Thursday, May 19, 2016 at BRAZZEL/Oakcrest Funeral Home in Hope.
