Mrs. Mary Ruth Abbott, age 92 of Prescott, Arkansas, passed away, Friday, January 23, 2015 in Hope. She was born on, Sunday, April 2, 1922 in Hempstead County, Arkansas to Walker and Fannie Lee Schooley Chambless. She was a member of Prescott Church of Christ. She was a home maker and had worked at Martin's Shoe Store as a sales clerk. Mary Ruth, as she was known, was the most caring, forgiving and selfless person anyone could have known. She loved to work in her garden, paint, and cook, especially baking sweets. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 71 years, Harold Abbott and one brother; Herbert Chambless. She is survived by her son; Don Abbott, wife, Tommie of Texarkana, TX; two loving daughters; Cindy Mitchell, husband, Dewayne of Doddridge, AR, Neena Garza, husband, JoJo of Shreveport, LA, three sisters; Mrs. Sammie Martin of Perrytown, Mrs. Joan Stockton of Prescott, and Mrs. June Caruthers of Hope, sister-in-law; Mrs. Sally Chambless of Deann, six grandchildren: Misti Flowers, husband, Mark of Hope, Michelle Sanguinetti, husband, Steve of Corinth, TX, Chad Harris, wife, Melissa of Shreveport, LA, Jessi Still, husband, Hunter of Warsaw, IL, Jordan Schmitt of Fayetteville, AR and Jana Schmitt of Warsaw, IL and her devoted care-giver; Stacey Wiley and other numerous nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Visitation, 5:00 to 7:00pm, Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott. Funeral service, 2:00pm, Sunday, January 25, 2015at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home.
