Mary Louise Barksdale, "Ms Lou", born August 22, 1927, died in
Prescott on July 21, 2022, in Hillcrest.
Her parents were Albert Pike "A.P." and Marie Johnson Barksdale.
She is preceded in death by her parents, a son John Ledbetter, brothers
Harold, Hubert and Jimmy as well her sister Helen.
She is survived by her brother Ronnie Barksdale, sister-in-law June
Porter and nieces and nephews.
Her occupation was property manager for many years. She was a
volunteer at Hillcrest for more than 25 years.
She was 94 and a long time member of the Church of Christ in
Prescott. She loved and enjoyed her church family, especially the
potlucks and area singings, some up until midnight.
She was an avid reader with many books on-hand to swap with her
book-loving friends. Because of this, she would want donations to the
Nevada County Library in lieu of flowers.
Graveside services will be at the Pleasant Hill cemetery on Saturday,
July 30th, at 10am, conducted by Brazzel Funeral Homes and officiated
by her preacher, John Ratliff.
