Mrs. Mary Cornelia Carter McRae, 95, Memphis, Tenn., (Formerly of Hope, Ark.) passed away at a Tenn. Hospital after a short illness. She was born on March 19, 1912, to Rollin H. And Annie Power Carter in Magnolia, Ark. She taught school in Mississippi County, Ark. for 50 years before retiring in Conway, Ark. She had lived in Memphis, TN. for the past eight years. She was a Master Gardner, Rosarian, PEO member and very active in the American Rose Society. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Conway, AR. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Phillip E. McRae; two sisters, Marjorie Caristianos of Hot Springs and Lena Kirkpatick of Conway. Survived by: One Daughter- Mary Ann Mahoney and Chris, Memphis, TN. One Grandson, Richard Simpson Vaughan III, Lakeland, Florida. One Sister, Mildred C. Latimer, El Dorado, Ark. Two Step-granddaughters, Angel Halpern, Memphis and Cheryl Webb, Atoka, TN. Five Step-grandchildren and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. GRAVESIDE Services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, Jan 30, 2008, Rose Hill Cemetery, Hope, Ark. Burial to follow. Arrangements by Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home, Hope, Ark.
