Mrs. Mary Ethel Harris, age 90 of Prescott, Arkansas passed away, Saturday, September 21, 2013 in Mercy Hospital in Hot Springs. Mrs. Harris was born May 20, 1923 in Nevada County, Arkansas to Robert E. and Julia Mae Stivers McLelland. Mrs. Harris was of the Church of Christ faith. Throughout her life, she touched the lives of many of her nieces and nephews in such special ways. She stepped into the role of being a mother in ways that marveled and amazed everyone who knew her, especially those that were blessed to be gifted by her love and guidance. She will be greatly missed but, is now at peace and reunited with all her family whom she loved so dearly. She was the last survivor of the 7 children in her family. Mrs. Harris was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Carter Harris, her parents, brothers, Johnny Everett McLelland, Kyle Bush McLelland, Thomas Wayne McLelland, and L.A. Jiggs McLelland, sisters, Sydney Almeta Pittman and Winnie Louise Blevins. Mrs. Harris is survived by multi-generations of nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be 2:00pm Wednesday September 25, 2013 at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home Chapel in Prescott, with Mr. Randy McLelland officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Prescott. Visitation will be Wednesday from 12:00 to 2:00pm prior to the service.
