On Monday, April 29TH, 2024, Mary Denise Spearman Block was united with her heavenly father. Born on March 5th, 1959, to Mary Dale Hopson Spearman and Luke Spearman. Mary was a 1977 Graduate of Prescott High School. Mary loved her family, her friends, and her church. At a young age she received Jesus Christ as her savior and was a faithful member of Mount Ephesus Baptist Church. She loved to sing in the church choir. She was choir president, financial secretary, and mission secretary of the church.
Mary Began her career at the Prescott Police Department. Later, she worked for the Prescott School District, where she served until her retirement.
Mary was married to Rosevelt Murphy and to this union two children were born.
Mary was preceded in death by her father, Luke Spearman and one brother, Terry Spearman.
Mary leaves to cherish her memory her mother, Mary Dale Spearman, husband, Freddie Block, children, one daughter, Sylvia Murphy Washington (Eric), son, Kelvin Murphy (Shakara), son, Willie Block, all of Prescott, AR, son, Timothy Block (Dixie) of Batesville, two sisters, Angela Walters (Jeremiah) of Prescott, AR, Rebekah Hicks (Gary) of Laneburg, and one brother, Tony Spearman (Vanessa) of Austin, TX, three grandchildren, Khel'Shanti Murphy, KelShaun Murphy, Detavious Washington, all of Prescott, AR and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday, May 10th, 5pm-7pm at the Brazzel/Cornish Chapel
Funeral service will be Satuday, May 11th, 10am at MT Ephesus Baptist Church in Prescott with burial to follow at Laneburg Cemetery.
