Dolores Maxine Jernigan, age 93, passed away on August 21, 2023, in Texarkana, Arkansas.  She was born in Pemiscot County, Missouri on July 29, 1930, to William and Eunice Evans Jenkins.

Maxine enjoyed being a mother and grandmother. She was a great cook and also loved to sew. She made beautiful quilts for all her grandchildren. Her faith was important to her, and she spent her life involved in church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, two sons; Jerry Dennis and Lloyd Stanley Jernigan, two brothers; Elton Goen and Robert Jenkins, five sisters; Josephine Barger, Ruth Uhls, Nelda Schmittling, Alma Marie Bishop, and Janet Riley.

Survivors include three sisters; Peggy Colgan, Brenda Lipe, and Judy Collier, two brothers; Gary and David Jenkins, four grandchildren; Chad Jernigan, wife, Karrie, Justin Jernigan, wife, Samantha all of Texarkana, AR, Kyle Jernigan, wife, Angie of Choctaw, OK, and Kayla Kuehnert, husband, Tim of Tulsa OK, seven great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.

Visitation will be Saturday August 26, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Brazzel/Oakcrest Chapel, 1001 South Main St. Hope, AR 71801. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel at 12:00 PM following with burial at Snell Cemetery.
