Melanie "Gaye" Petty age 59 of Prescott, Arkansas, passed away Monday February 27, 2023, in Texarkana, Texas. Gaye was born on March 5, 1963, in Prescott to Ed and Anna Davis Birdsong. She was employed with the City of Prescott and Nevada County as a Deputy Circuit Clerk and a member of the First Presbyterian Church Prescott. Gaye was affectionately called "MEME" by her grandchildren that she deeply loved to spend time with. She was truly a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Gaye is preceded in death by her father Ed Birdsong and brother Ray Birdsong.

Survivors include: husband of 17 years Carol "Doddle" Petty, sons, Josh Birdsong, Diamond Head, Arkansas, Casey Petty (Mitzy) Wake Village, Texas, daughters, Katelyn Fomby (Jeff) Fort Smith, Arkansas, Brittany Petty, Church Point, Louisiana, mother, Anna Birdsong, sister, Tina Johnson (Dan) Wake Village, Texas, seven grandchildren, Korbin Birdsong, Braydon Jones, Sydnie Jones, Maci Davis, Presley Fomby, Connor Petty, Everette Petty, Marley Kay Bobo, two nieces, Anna Johnson and Leah Johnson. Numerous family members and friends.

Visitation will be 1:00pm to 2:00pm on Saturday March 4, 2023, at BRAZZEL/Cornish 1196 Hwy 371 West Prescott, Arkansas 71857

Funeral service will be 2:00pm on Saturday March 4, 2023, at BRAZZEL/Cornish with Bro. Jeff Fomby officiating. Burial will follow at DeAnn Cemetery.
