Mr. Melvin Clifton Joy, Jr., 69, of Memphis, Tenn.,passed away Friday, May 8, 2009, at his home. He was born September 2, 1939, in Bryan, Texas, to Melvin and Irene Joy. He graduated from Hope High School in 1957. He retired from Eco Laboratory in Memphis. Melvin Clifton was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Elizabeth Ann Waller of Windom, Texas. SURVIVORS INCLUDE: One Son: Doug Joy and Becky, Batesville, Mississippi; One Daughter: Galelyn J. Holland, Pontotoe, Mississippi; Two Grandchildren and Three Great-Grandchildren; Four Brothers: James E. Joy and Robbie, Hempstead, Texas; Robert E. Joy and Paula, Marlow, Okla; John Joy and Melba, Hope, Ark.; and David Joy and Karen, Hope, Ark. MEMORIAL SERVICE will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 4, 2009, at Macedonia Cemetery, Hope, Ark., with Rev. Jacob Waller officiating. Burial to follow.
