Ms. Mitzi Polk, age 71 of Hope, Arkansas gained her angel wings Thursday, June 4, 2015 in Hope. She was born January 10, 1944 in Hope, Arkansas to Minor and Margaret Cornelius Polk. She was a loving daughter, sister, and aunt that will be dearly missed. Ms. Polk was one of the first children educated at Paisley School by Lois May for the mentally challenged. She later attended Arkansas Children's Colony in Conway, Arkansas and she was a member of First Baptist Church. Ms. Polk is preceded in death by her father, Minor Polk, and one brother, Arthur Dale Polk. Survivors include: her mother, Margaret Cornelius Polk of Hope, Arkansas, three sisters; Florence McGaugh of El Dorado, Arkansas, Margaret Kidd, husband, Ronnie, of Hope, Arkansas, Toni Mayo of Hope, Arkansas, two nieces, Donna Hale, husband, Murray, of Marion, Louisiana, Ashlyn Mayo Amerson, husband, Ashley, of Mount Pleasant, Texas, five nephews; Russell McGaugh, wife, Tracy, of El Dorado, Arkansas, Bryan McGaugh, wife, Thu, of El Dorado, Arkansas, Matt Kidd, wife, Laura, of Nashville, Arkansas, Grant Kidd, wife, Tracy, of Little Rock, Arkansas, Tyler Mayo of Hope, Arkansas, numerous great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation is 1:00-2:00pm, Sunday, June 7, 2015 at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home. Funeral service is 2:00pm, Sunday, June 7, 2015, at Brazzel/Oakcrest Chapel with Bro. Mark Fischer officiating.
