Mrs. Myrtie J. Green Bearden, age 88, of Caney, passed away Thursday, January 9, 2014, at her home. She was born June 14, 1925, in Smackover, Arkansas, to Benjamin F. and Conella Rogers Green. She was a homemaker and a member of the Morris Baptist Church in Caney. Mrs. Bearden was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 43 years, Ray L. Bearden, two brothers, Burchie and Bennie Green, and two sisters, Ruby Keaton and Trudy Clayborn. Mrs. Bearden is survived by her son, James Bearden of Calico Rock, Arkansas, daughter, Reba Bearden Pittman and husband Kenneth of Caney, and grandchildren, Benjamin Wallace, Daniel Wallace, and Christopher Bearden, and one great-grandchild, Joseph Wallace. Visitation will be 12:00 to 2:00pm, Saturday, January 11, 2014, at Morris Baptist Church in Caney. Funeral service will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, January 11, 2014, at Morris Baptist Church in Caney, with Bro. Neal Ridling officiating burial will follow in Caney Cemetery in Caney.
