With great sadness, the Tanner family announces the passing of their beloved wife, mother, grandmother (Nana), and sister, Nancy Carolyn Clingan Tanner on July 17, 2010. Nancy was born May 10, 1935, in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, married Charles Richard Tanner on June 10, 1956, and has lived in Beaumont, Texas since 1963. She was a retired registered nurse, an active volunteer in many Beaumont charity organizations, a choir member at Trinity United Methodist Church and an avid tennis player. She is survived by her husband, Charles Richard Tanner, MD; her daughters, Karen Tanner-Smith and her husband Mark of Parker, Colorado, Kathryn Tanner, MD, of Hartsburg, Missouri, Donna Day and her husband Kenneth of Austin, Texas and Diane Anderson and her husband Paul of Carrollton, Texas; her grandchildren, Tanner Day, Dylan Day, Jessica Day, Alex Anderson and Amanda Anderson; and her brother, Nathan Clingan and his wife Ann of Arkadelphia, Arkansas. Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 21, 2010, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 3430 Harrison Avenue, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussards, 2000 McFaddin. A gathering of her family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 20, 2010, at Broussards. A graveside service will be 4:00 p.m. Thursday, July 22, 2010 at Okolona Cemetery in Okolona, Arkansas. Local arrangements are by Brazzel/Oakcrest The Funeral Home of Hope, Arkansas.
