Obituary

Mrs. Nancy Cox Tommey, age 75 of Fulton, Arkansas passed away, Friday, January 2, 2015 in Christus St. Michael Hospital in Texarkana, Texas. Mrs. Tommey was born in Hope, Arkansas on November 30, 1939 to Herbert and Lanie Hawthorn Cox. Mrs. Tommey was a lifetime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Hope. She was a retired school teacher at the Old Washington, Arkansas school system for over 20 years and also a retired self employed food caterer. She was a member of the John Cain Chapter DAR, former mayor of Fulton and also was a former treasurer for the Hempstead County Levi Board. She was loving devoted mother and sister Nancy is preceded in death by her brother Jim Cox and daughter in law Nicole Vorhease Cox. Mrs. Tommey is survived by two sons; David Cox of Fulton and Bill Tommey of Rogers, AR, two daughters; Mitzi Hardy, husband, Dr. Kyle Hardy, of Springdale, AR and Pam Lawhon of Alexander, AR, two sisters; Catherine Kennedy, husband, Jim of Little Rock, AR and Myra Wylie, husband, Charles of Hope AR, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Visitation 1:00 to 2:00pm , Saturday, January 10, 2015 at First Presbyterian Church, of Hope. Memorial service will follow 2:00pm, Saturday, January 10, 2015 at First Presbyterian Church of Hope, Rev. Kathleen Hignight will officiate. A private family burial will be at a later time.
