Mrs. Alva Nell Anderson Ogburn, age 88, of Hope, Arkansas passed away, Sunday November 18, 2012, at St. Michaels Hospital in Texarkana. She was born August 16, 1924, in Hempstead County, Arkansas to George Harrison and Alice Betts Anderson. Mrs. Ogburn was a retired secretary from the Hope Public Schools and a member of the Hope Church of Christ for over 66 years. She spent the best times of her life raising her children and taking care of her husband. She loved to read, reading the Bible daily along with many types of novels. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 17 years, William Bryan Ogburn, Sr., a daughter, Alice Ann Ogburn, and a brother Billy Anderson. Mrs. Ogburn is survived by two sons, William Bryan Billy Ogburn, Jr. of Hope, Arkansas, Ricky Ogburn and wife Rebecca of Hope, Arkansas, two daughters, Vicky Denman of Moore, Oklahoma, Ruth Ann Gentry and husband Donny of Florence, Mississippi, one sister-in-law, Lynette Anderson Smith, eight grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Tuesday, November 20, 2012, at Brazzel/Oakcrest The Funeral Home of Hope. Funeral service for Mrs. Ogburn will be 10:00 am, Wednesday November 21, 2012, at the Brazzel/Oakcrest Chapel, Mr. Harley Sisson and Mr. Barry Haynes officiating.
