Nellie Virginia Nations Bobo passed away on Friday, July 24, 2015. She was born in Spring Hill, Arkansas, on November 18, 1936, to Will and Kate Sinyard Nations. Nellie was a graduate of Spring Hill High School and later married Guy Bobo in Hope, Arkansas, on January 15, 1955. Shortly after their marriage, Nellie and Guy moved to Freeport, Texas, where Nellie worked in accounting for a local shipping company and Guy worked for the City of Freeport. After residing in Texas several years, Nellie and Guy returned to Spring Hill, Arkansas, where they began their partnership in the farming and ranching business. Nellie was a member of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church. She was an example of Paul's descriptions of the fruit of the Spirit. Nellie exhibited joy throughout her life, she was patient in all things, and she had a goodness about her that all could see. She was a caring soul who was kind to the young and old alike. When death was near, Nellie maintained a peace that was beyond human understanding. Nellie loved her family and her friends in action and in truth. Nellie was a devoted and loving mother to Cheryl, Doug, Jerita and Joan. She nurtured each one from their youth and loved them throughout their life. Nellie was a devoted mother, who unfailingly helped her children in every way. She raised her children to know the value of work, to deal with people fairly, to love their families, and to be strong in the Christian faith. Nellie was not only a loving and devoted wife, but she also was a strong and equal partner in every part of the family business. She worked with Guy, helping him in the field and in the office. She was a diligent and hard-working person, who shared in all aspects of the family business. Nellie was also an excellent homemaker, making sure that her home was warm and inviting, for family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Guy Bobo, whom she loved dearly. On January 15, 2015, they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. She is survived by her children: Cheryl Shaw and her husband, Nelson, of Texarkana, Arkansas; Doug Bobo and his wife, Holly, of Spring Hill, Arkansas; and, Jerita Wylie and her husband, Stacy, of Spring Hill, Arkansas. Also, she is survived by her grandchildren: Cody Collins and Lila Langston, of Hope, Arkansas; Katelyn Collins of Bolivar, Missouri; Sara Bobo of Texarkana, Arkansas; Dori Bobo of Los Angeles, California; Webb Bobo of Spring Hill, Arkansas; Adam Wylie, Austin Wylie, and Andrew Wylie, all of Spring Hill, Arkansas; and precious great grandchildren. In addition, she is survived by her sisters, Ola Mae Mullinax of North Little Rock, Arkansas and Ruth Chamlee of Texarkana, Texas; and her sisters-in-law, Elise Nations of Hemingway, South Carolina, and Gloria Nations of Ashdown, Arkansas; and a host of extended family. Nellie was predeceased in death by her parents, Will and Kate Sinyard Nations; her daughter, Joan Carole Bobo; and her siblings: Roy Nations (and wife, Eva Jewel), Elbert Nations (and first wife, Pauline), Floyd Nations, Elmer Nations (and wife, Ena), Barney Nations (and wife, Mamie), Archie Nations, and Mary Nations Reese (and husband, Bryan); and brothers-in-law, Bobby Chamlee and Tommy Mullinax. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in her memory be made to Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, 412 Bill Clinton Drive, Hope, Arkansas, 71801.
